  • The Youth Team Officers know and accept the BHCC mission.
  • The Team agendas reflect youth group concerns.
  • The Youth Team Officers focus on strategic issues for group.
  • Youth Team Officers will report that they have adequate information to make decisions.
  • Make regular reports to the youth group regarding results and accomplishments that relate to the BHCC Youth Team strategic plan and its impact on the community.
  • Youth Team Officers frequently represent the BHCC by making community presentations and calling on potential campaigners and donors.


The Youth Team Officers are in
touch with the needs of the community,
and move to meet those needs within the context of the BHCC mission.

  • Youth Team Officers will report that their meetings are productive and they are able to contribute meaningfully in the advancement of the mission of  the BHCC.
  • Youth Team Officers understand and accept responsibility as a BHCC Officer.
  • BHCC agendas frequently contain information and presentations on community assests, needs, and issues.
  • Youth Team Officers report a feeling of passion for and a commitment to the mission of the BHCC, and engage others in that mission.
  • The Youth  team Officers set high, realistic standards of performance that are based upon the BHCC currrent strategic plan.
  • Youth Team Officers frequently represent the BHCC by making community presentations and calling on potential campaigners and donors.

The Youth Team Officers fulfill their responsibility.

  • Youth Team Officers understand their three legal duties of obedience, loyalty, and care.
  • Youth Team Officers use reasonable and prudent judgment in managing the affairs of the BHCC.
  • Youth Team Officers give undivided allegiance when making decisions affecting the BHCC and stay faithful to the stated mission of the BHCC.
  • Youth Team Officers stay well informed of policy and fiscal matters of the BHCC.
  • Youth Team Officers attend meetings regularly, i.e., at least 80 percent of the meetings annually.
  • Youth Team Officers frequently represent the BHCC by making community presentations and calling on potential campaigners and donors.


The overall governance and compliance documents are current.

  • The Youth Team meets at least twelve times per year.
  • Officers and chairpersons of board committees attend key-leader conferences and other gatherings of Neighborhoods, State Alliances.
  • The Youth Team Officers and committee rosters, board minutes, strategic plan (and associated goals), bylaws, constitution, organizational chart, and board manual bear evidence of a well-run and organized board that governs the BHCC according to the mission and goals of the association.
  • Copy of BHCC bylaws, articles of incorporation, and other governing Documents
  • Youth Team Officers attend meetings regularly, i.e., at least 80 percent of the meetings annually.
  • Youth Team Officers frequently represent the BHCC by making community presentations and calling on potential campaigners and donors.

The Youth Team Officers have a
clear understanding of their role and responsibility.

  • Youth Team Officers know and accept their responsibility in determining the mission and purpose of BHCC.
  • Youth Team Officers know and accept their responsibility to plan and set the direction of the BHCC based on the stated mission.
  • Youth Team Officers know and accept their responsibility to assist Youth Team members.
  • New Youth Team Officers are provided with a comprehensive orientation to their role.
  • Youth Team Officers can articulate and actively communicate the BHCC mission to the larger community.
  • There is evidence that the volunteer efforts of Youth Team Officers are recognized and appreciated.
  • The Team chairperson can provide evidence that unproductive board members are identified and appropriately coached.
